Welcome to the Take Control website
If you have epilepsy, Take Control is for you.
Take Control aims to help you, or perhaps someone who cares for you, to get the best possible treatment for your epilepsy. Better treatment could mean:

"I was diagnosed with epilepsy two years ago and currently have a seizure about once every 3½ weeks. The hardest part about having epilepsy is losing my memory for two or three days after a seizure - it has a big impact on my life. When I heard about the Take Control initiative I registered straight away. I filled in the diary for the full six weeks having found a really helpful way to record my seizures and side effects. After that time I made an appointment with my GP, who used the information in the diary to refer me to a neurologist.
If you or someone you know has epilepsy and is still experiencing seizures and/or side effects, I would recommend participating in Take Control. I felt that I didn’t receive enough information about epilepsy when I was first diagnosed, but now my consultant and I are working together to provide me with the best possible treatment for my epilepsy and the diary is proving to be beneficial in this discussion."
